Cristina Gheorghita, a member of both the Bucharest and New York Bars and a Fulbright Scholar alumna, is Of Counsel lawyer in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate and Corporate Law Department, bringing over 25 years of experience in business law, practiced both in Romania and internationally. Cristina previously worked as a senior lawyer at a top 5 ranked international law firm and established and coordinated the Romanian based legal practice of an international group of financial and accounting firms.

Her expertise primarily includes mergers and acquisitions, real estate law, corporate law, commercial contracts, banking law and insurance. Cristina has been involved in various complex projects, including due diligence procedures resulting in acquisitions of companies both in Romania and cross-border, where she coordinated the due diligence legal teams alongside financial and tax due diligence teams. Her experience extends to real estate transactions, including agricultural, forestry and urban lands, as well as commercial constructions such as shopping centres. She has aided clients throughout negotiations and the conclusion of real estate sales and purchase agreements, commercial lease agreements, and business transfers, as well as drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, corporate restructurings and establishing joint ventures.

Cristina has been involved in diverse investment projects, offering legal assistance in company acquisitions across various sectors, including brewing, banking, hospitality, construction materials, agrifood, automotive, and energy industries.  She holds a LL.M. Master of Law Degree in international business law from the University of Houston, USA, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar as well as LL.M. Masters of Law Degree from the Nicolae Titulescu–Henri Capitant Institute (Sorbonne University and University of Bucharest).

Cristina speaks fluent Romanian, English, German, and French, and has conversational proficiency in Italian.
